Sustainable Development Goal (UNSDG) 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure aims to build
resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation
by 2030. This goal addresses challenges such as lack of modern infrastructure, limited access to
technology, and underdeveloped industries, which hinder economic opportunities, especially in
developing regions.
Barriers such as insufficient investment in infrastructure, outdated technology, and lack of digital
access prevent many communities from fully participating in the global economy. Inadequate transport
systems, unreliable energy sources, and poor internet connectivity limit productivity, making it difficult
for businesses to grow and innovate. Key targets of UNSDG 9 include expanding access to financial and
technological resources, promoting sustainable industrial practices, and enhancing research and
development to drive economic and environmental progress.
